I-Beam for the Second-Gen Toyota Platform (1996-2004) The 1996-2004 Toyota trucks represent a distinct chassis generation from the 1989-1995 trucks. Frame geometry, spring mounting, and front suspension architecture changed in ways that affect how an I-beam conversion is engineered. This kit is built specifically for the 1996-2004 frame. The conversion welds onto your stock Toyota frame and moves the front wheels 3.0\” forward, creating additional tire clearance and improving approach angle without shortening the wheelbase. Dana 44 spindles on a 5-on-5.5\” bolt pattern replace the stock spindle setup for a significantly stronger foundation. Crossover Steering Included At the extended track widths that come with equal-length beams, stock drag-link geometry produces severe bump steer. Crossover steering corrects this by repositioning the drag link across the axle centerline. The passenger-side swinger is included; the driver-side integrates with the stock steering box position. What Is Included I-beams (width of your choice — call to specify) Frame pivots and cross member Radius arms and radius arm pivots Passenger steering swinger What You Will Also Need Dana 44 spindles are not included — source from a wrecking yard or aftermarket supplier. You will also need ball joints for the Dana 44, a compatible tie rod setup, and front shocks sized to your planned travel. Year Range Is Critical The 1996-2004 kit is not interchangeable with the 1989-1995 or 2005-and-up versions. Toyota frame geometry changed between generations. Order only for your exact year range.
