The sound is great for this type of unit – and if you really want to be impressed, crank up the volume! It handles loud volume well and sounds even better than at lower volumes. I was looking for a more modern replacement for the Bose Wave I have had for years and am very impressed by the quality sound – although I loved the Bose sound when I first got it, this unit far outperforms it. It’s attractive, easy to use and easy to set up. However, there are a couple of idiosyncrasies I’m not so crazy about and the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars. 1) When you first turn the unit on it does not return to anything you had it set at the previous time – it doesn’t remember what you were using (CD or radio, etc.), and returns to a default volume (5, I think), which is kind of a loud starting volume if you were listening to the radio previously. 2) Trying to get to a specific radio station is a PITA. You’re supposed to be able to press the GoTo key and then enter the radio station’s number (ie, 97.9, 102.7, etc.), but it times out much too quickly when you are trying to enter the number and you also have to press the 0/10 or 10 key if the station is less than or greater than 100 mHz and then enter the station number, but again, it times out too quickly.
