Camp Chef Deluxe BBQ Grill Box – Outdoor Grill Box for Grill Accessories – 14″ x 32″

The good:I’ve owned this box since the Fall of 2011 and it has remained covered, outdoors, and used several times a week since. Unlike some of the reviews here I never found the grate cleaning to be an issue, in fact I found the design to work great for roasting most vegetables without the need of additional accessories. This thing will absolutely sear a steak to perfection in minutes under 60k burners, however I would suggest purchasing some ceramic bricks and steel diffuser plates to help distribute the heat more evenly… in my case the back corners were too hot, and the center front was cold.The Bad:Rust… and lots of it, which eventually lead to its demise. I’m no amateur, this was with a proper canvas cover, frequent cleaning, seasoning, and using high heat paint sealer on the exterior at the end of each summer season; the effects of living on the Mid-Atlantic coast have taken its toll. You can keep the box itself in good order but the areas around the welds will eventually break down first, and after that the rear hinges will begin to warp and eventually break off.The wish list:Campchef has at least acknowledged their products do not fair well on the coasts, and have begun to release 100% stainless steel variants of their ranges… however they have not released a grill box variant for the 2-burner models yet. If someone from the company is watching, please create a stainless steel box that matches your new stainless steel range- outside of aesthetics you committed to 1/2 the battle by only addressing the lower half of the problem.
