I purchased these with the intent of dressing up the engine compartment in my 2003 Nissan Xterra. I think it turned out nicely, but I wanted to give you a bit of info to help out if you have this particular truck. Also, wait for your engine is completely cool before beginning, and obviously turn it off.First, the wire separators hold the wires a little more loosely than I would like. My particular wires are NGK 8mm. I did not deduct a star though because it was quite simple to rectify. I used some good quality electrical tape and wrapped it neatly around the individual wires where I wanted the separators to be placed. A few turns should be enough, we only want it to clamp enough to not slide around. Placed properly it will not be seen once the clamps are installed. The second tip is specific to my Nissan 3.3 engine. (Frontier, Xterra, Quest depending on year). In the pictures you can see I have replaced the stock plastic holders in their original location, with these aluminum ones. There are two locations. where this was necessary on the upper intake manifold. The holder closest to the front of the truck only requires a longer bolt, washer and split washer. The size is M4x20. Replace the lower bolt on the wire holder with the longer bolt. (in my case the bolt is black and may be tougher to see in the pics) The alloy holder is then simply bolted to the stock metal mount through the square hole you will see on the original mount. The second holder involves a little more work, but not too tough if you are handy and comfortable around cars. The most daunting task for this part is removing the harness clipped to the mount without damaging anything. This should be done before unbolting it. You will need to carefully press the tab through the square hole and slowly pull up to release. Once released use a 10 mm socket to remove the mount. Now that its removed you will need to drill a hole in it below the square. The reason being is that we want to align the holder with the wires to achieve a neat straight path. The next part is a little more involved and should only be attempted if you are experienced with tools. What we need to do is modify one four wire holder into a three wire holder. I used a hacksaw while the aluminum wire holder was held in place on a bench vise. It is important to protect the finish of the wire holder with small wooden blocks on either side, as the vise can easily mar the aluminum.I cut mine on the line that is already on the piece and it served as a nice guide for the hacksaw. The only headache is getting the 10mm bolt back in to mount the holder back on the intake manifold. I was able to do it with a 10mm crescent wrench and a lot of patience.Hopefully the pictures with explain anything I may have left out. Some may say its a lot of work for not much in the way of practicality, but I enjoy little projects with my truck, hope you will too.
